Floral Velvet

It's not so summery but my outfit choices these days are severely confused. I LOVE this dress - its Topshop Boutique from a few seasons ago and its so Gothic-sex it makes me feel really feminine. There's a real luxe feel to the velvet and the flowers are dead pretty. So even though it is a bit of an odd choice this June day, clothes still make me feel good. And that's the most important thing. My boots are new - you can't seem them well in these images but they are ankle boot platforms with toe studding. I'll probably live in them this winter.

Seeking Solace

In my last few days of living in London there is chaos abound and I can only find comfort in leopard print and heels. I'm packing my life today so some charity shop is getting some serious goodies since I just don't have the capacity to drag my stuff 200 miles away. I'm not usually one for coordinating my clothes but it accidentally happened this morning - the original goal was to finally get my legs out this year since my Tunisian tan is fading fast....

Sifted and Thrifted

Finally I've had chance to get back to The East End Thrift Store - it is such a trek from my neck of the woods but so worth it. They do a fill-a-bag section and its amaaaaazing. We only filled our bag with three items so it worked out to less than £3.34 per item. I know! It's nuts.... my fave pick was this pair of dungarees. I have to say I never thought I'd succumb to such a trend but my inner fashion slave came screaming out.

I found this dress in a vintage stall at Portobello Market several years ago for my 20th birthday party and every year I still pull it out to wear all Summer. The print it amazing!! And I reckon if soul mates were clothes... I'm also wearing an Adidas pink lumo jacket which I've had since my teens and my very first pair of Irregular choice shoes. I bought them from Faith about 10 years ago! oh today is an aged day.

Purple Prose

Finally my dress arrived from Australia! I've found the most amazing eBay shop and I literally want to buy everything. It's really reasonable in terms of price and considering it is shipped from the other side of the world p&p is not bad either. This dress is the closest I'll get to the whole dungaree/pinafore trend this season - they remind me too much of school - and as an aspiring science teacher it just doesn't feel right.  I'm also wearing my new snap back from Pretty Little Thing!! It was just £5 and its got fur, studs and some serious embellishment on it... you can't quite see it in the outfit post but no doubt I'll be wearing it a lot. They've got loads of different styles of hats so I'll probably making another purchase soon.

Bandwagon

I hate to say I've succumbed and jumped onto the Blogger Bandwagon - I've only gone and purchased myself a statement tee. It's an ebay bargain and not one of the Brian Lichtenberg ones though. I'm also wearing my beautiful mohair cardigan from a vintage shop in Camden. It's got some dead animal sewn onto it hence no close up images today as I wouldn't like to offend anyone - but my stance is that fur is gorgeous, and vintage fur is very acceptable.

A recent Spring clear out has me rediscovering lots of old pieces! I found my vintage leather and suede jacket - another piece from TRAID charity shop. I know the outfit is a bit black today but some things are beyond our control... I used to love organising outfits together and experimenting in different ways but I've noticed recently I'll throw together what ever happens to be at the front of my wardrobe - which I guess is an experiment in itself. So today is black and tomorrow are ponies.

Hounding

I always thought I loved a print having an array of leopards, tigers, snakes and zebras hung in my wardrobe but prints outside this collection are far a few between. It's probably a bit too late to make new year's resolutions but from now on I'm going to do print as much as possible :) I picked up this giant hound's tooth shirt from a charity shop, TRAID in the Westbourne Grove branch. Its my favourite chain of charity shops in London as there's always a good mix of vintage and new stuff and every 2-3 months they have a massive clear out and everything is £2!

Veil and Shine

 The second the sun comes out I'm putting on my floatiest see-through dress and parading down the street bare foot - You can take a girl out of Yorkshire but you can't take the Yorkshire out of me.......

But for now my wardrobe seems to be regressing. While I love a sparkle and some shine - it's a bit festive! I can't help it the weather is confusing my body and my general attire. I feel like a bird who flew south but still ended up in the Arctic.

I don't normally like to bring attention to my lips but the shiny materials I'm wearing just called for it.

Always be a Unicorn

When I was at school there were two types of girls. The Horsey Girls and the Non-Horsey lot. I was the latter and proud of it. Frankly I just thought it was a little bit cringe to gallop around the playground grunting   and kicking my hind legs around. Now I'm older, I see the magic!! Unicorns! They're beautiful and horses are the nearest I'm ever going to get to unicorns. Ergo, I like horses...

I've facebooked and Instagrammed my new vest a few times already and the reaction hasn't been positive - I've even heard open sniggering about it when I'm walking down the street but I don't care because I LOVE MY ROMWE VEST. It's got studs, bleached denim, unicorns and pink feathers...what's not to love?!

Or don't. In fact hyping on lookbook.nu would be amazing, please! I picked up this oversized sequinned tee from a shop called Republic for a tenner.... I don't normally shop there as I only know the branch up north but there's always a bargainous treasure tucked away and I even spotted my beloved Vila military jacket for £25! I bought mine from very.co.uk for £60.... My pink bow hasn't really left my head for about 3 weeks and it doesn't look to be going anywhere - I've got a feeling my spring wardrobe is going to be dominated by  all things fluorescent this year. Sorry for the manky face today - that's  the mix of me trying 'to connect with the camera' and being hideously exhausted. But busy is always good, even at the expense of my face!

Till Hell Freezes Over

I've just booked my holiday for hot North Africa for later on this year and decided I was ready for sunshine and summer dresses. Then I woke up to this... :( Bent on wearing heels and summery clothes anyway I've layered up and added my wool hat. I will not let the weather beat me today!
