Google+ Hangout with Glamour and Very.co.uk

If you didn't already know Glamour Magazine created an exclusive collection for Very.co.uk! The collection has a timeless appeal with a bit of Glamour's signature pink thrown in there in the form of a cute tutu (my favourite!) . It adds a bit of fun to the range and I literally can't wait to see what's to come next out of the collaboration. They've magically managed to include all the wardrobe staples and made it accessible and attractive to many different women. So if you haven't done so already, check out the collection - Jo Elvin herself gives a video for each item in the collection!

For the launch of the collection I was fortunate enough to be invited to the Google+ Hangout with Glamour, Very.vo.uk and some really influential fashion bloggers! YES I was star-stricken. Being in a virtual room with Frassy, StyleSuzi, Fashionista Barbie and the Fashion Team at Glamour including Jo Elvin, the editor was a dream. The bloggers got a chance to exclusively interview the Glamour team which included Jo Elvin, Charlotte Anne Fidler (creative and fashion director) and Emer Dewar (Editor and Large) and we chatted about the vision of the collection, the inspiration and we explored how this wonderful collaboration arose.

Here's the YouTube vid of the Hangout!

I've also been sporting my new Glamour collection pieces a lot since they joined my wardrobe and will be doing a post about the different ways to wear the tutu!

Today I'm Wearing the Tutu!

With All My Heart

I've recently become a member with ASOS Fashion Finder which is a little like a cocktail of polyvore and Lookbook but better! I have to say though that making my own collage-mood-baord-outfit-makers in other programs would always be my first choice. Anyhow, this is my first look for ASOS fashion finder and of course we are in February so this is a Valentine's date outfit. Even if it is a little unseasonal...

Secret S

On Tuesday evening I was catching up with some girlfriends at the house of S - who I hadn't spoken with for yonks. The food is exquisite and the company is great.  We're all science girls but love talking about vintage, secret finds, the most inspiring designers and the extent of our wardrobes! Of course our host gladly presents us with one of her recent finds: a beautiful vintage ring with a row of gleaming blue sapphires embedded along the band. The rest of us are gunned down with its delicate charm as we're passing it around the dinner table ooo-ing and arr-ing.

I'm comforted by the her great taste in jewellery and glad we chose not to postpone the dinner date. It's not long before we are planning our next vintage spree together gabbling like old geese and before I know it we've practically emptied out the contents of S's shoe cupboard on to the bed. It's pretty vast but also pretty amazing!

Boxes of Chanel, Prada, Louboutin, Mui Mui (to name a few....) of shiny heels and pure design. Gorgeous.

The Above are my favourite: Chanel T-bar and ankle strap in a silky black.  Size succession gold stars leading to the toes with the small CC across them and encircled with diamante - finished with gold star buckles. Magic.

But the most surprising thing here, is that you wouldn't know it by her modest mannerisms and humble demeanour. And that's how she likes it. She's no peacock striving to boast her best side, but more of an owl who takes flight only at night - so only those looking are able to see its beauty.

Our Secret S also has her own blog which you should check out at thesecretclosetuk.blogspot.com

I can't wait until next time we look at JEWELLERY!!! I'll keep you updated :)

Fairytale Dreams

I have a dream….

Continuing my yearning for sculpture through footwear these Alexander McQueen dreams send my heart reeling, this is that fresh feeling, like old paint peeling (thanks Eels…).

They’re so fairytale - delicate, intricate, extraordinary, enchanting and entrancing!

Now…what would I wear them with? I guess they could carry themselves toutes seules but for the sake of those non-naturists out there, including myself:

Enjoy a mood board much?

Get Me to the Church On Time..

It’s Wedding Season: what to wear?!

Now there’s great pressure here… while it’s not your day, these pictures are going to be looked at for years to come. Memories stamped in history through photos and videos forever and ever and ever much like the ever lasting love between the lucky couple themselves…

Keep it classical with nudes, blushes, and champagne colours which never date. With accessories, Rose gold metals should extend the expensive look further and keep the shoes and bag simple (and preferably matching :) !) These colours happen to be extremely flattering for all shapes and sizes too - nude shoes are going to make your legs twice as long. Get on it.

I’m staring wide eyed at ruffles this summer for weddings - my mindset is girly, glamorous garden party dancing into the midsummer night…
