An unintentional H2T Ham

I should be writing an essay but instead I'm prancing around outside taking (forcing someone to take) pictures of myself. The fruitful mix of a bad month and payday lead to a good rinsing of the local shops and today in an bid to wear some of my recently purchased items I've somehow ended up in an outfit almost completely head to toe in H&M. Some of it is old season but still feels strange wearing lots from the same shop. Also felt good to get an unintentional clash in there too.

Today I'm wearing:
long tartan sleeveless shirt - H&M
Gilet - H&M
Trousers - H&M
striped tee - H&M
shoes - Red or Dead and Schuh

Flight and Bandwagonning

I've been carried away on the Blogger's Bandwagon again! I resisted for ages to bag the blogger's skort (part skirt, part shorts). Zara started it and they've since been found in all kinds of colours, prints and materials. It's been resisted all summer then I happened to be browsing a tiny, independent shop on the Doncaster high street  when I found this beauty. It's pleather. But it's also a fad, so its fine.
It's quite a casual outfit today, so I jazzed them up with some huge blingies.

Today I'm wearing:
Wings Hoodie - Ebay (similar here)
Tee- Urban Outfitters
Shoes - Red or Dead - Schuh

Bree

I've been at my new job for seven weeks now and it requires me to wear formal conservative stuff. I don't mind but still  haven't quite found myself yet and feel like I'm slowly losing my personality through my clothes - which as you might imagine, its a cold-sweat, wrinkle-inducing kind of terrifying. Anyhow, the decision has been made after watching a ton of Desperate Housewives this weekend that I'm going to start channelling Bree Van De Kamp some days to feel girly and when it starts getting really cold I'll dress all androgynous. Get ready for brogues, bow ties, quiffs and matchy suits.
Today I'm wearing:
hat - Charity shop
Cropped knit - Primark
Skirt - Topshop
Belt - Versace
Shoes - Office

Girly Grunge

I got new boots. I've been banging on about grungy knee-highs or thigh boots for about two and half years but just couldn't find any chunky, non-slutty, non-pony, non-flat. I hate it when you dream a pair of shoes and can't find then anywhere.  So annoying....! Anyway these beauties are a result of a pretty student discount code, payday, impatience and they're about as close to what I've conjured in my mind.
Tried these boots on with a number of things and the only way I can get them to look non-slutty or frumpy (there's a fine line) was to keep it girly and make everything else over-sized.
Sorry for the scowls. It was sunnier that it looks this morning...

Today I'm wearing:
Feather pink skirt - TOPSHOP
Faux fur shoulder jumper - NEXT
polka dot stockings - Primark
leather and Aztec combo jacket - ZARA

A Dark Place

My sister (the fabulous photographer of late) said I'm dressed for a funeral. That I should pull my finger out and jog on. Black is depressing and so is music about death but it funnily just makes me feel better. She's also right! I'm blasting out Katy Perry this fine afternoon and feeling super working on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I've pulled out my veiled beanie because the weather is finally calling for it, the dress is from Thailand! From a weird second hand shop that smelt of fresh toilet on Koh Lanta. It was something like 50p I love it - It's like a pinafore apron or a sexy backless thing. How versatile. I reckon I'll be wearing a white shirt underneath and chucking it on for school this winter.

Black and the Ace of Spades

I'll never be pleased with the serious lack of blogging life will offer me over the next couple of years but so glad to be wearing my new shoes this rainy day, and really chuffed to be able to blog about them. I had a seriously low point this week and needed a twinkle of joy in life, enter these beautiful new shoes! They're Red or Dead. Spotted them over the summer in Schuh but couldn't quite part with the cash. They've since gone into the sale and were just a very affordable £19.99. Nuts, I know. They're going to be perfect for just about everything, I just know it.

Today I'm wearing:
Hat - ASOS

Where's My Prince?

I can't stop describing everything as dreamy and it is really annoying me. But it has inspired this outfit post this afternoon. This skirt was a super bargain at a Net-a-Porter sample sale. I picked it up for a photo shoot and it turned out that I liked it too much to share. Perfect for prancing around the garden on a sunny afternoon like I might one day phoofff!!! ..into a princess :)

It's a bit of a rags and riches outfit, today I'm wearing:
Ballerina skirt - D&G (sample sale at NAP)
Crop top - Primark
Shoes - Moda in Pelle

Trippin'

This Summer has been a funny one but an amazing one nonetheless and the blog has unfortunately suffered. I spent an intense 6 week training for my new job then was finally able to relax for 20 days in Asia (which has taken up the whole summer) so here's a few holiday snaps! We spent half a week in Beijing before travelling around Thailand. I've previously spent 6 weeks in Thailand before in 2009 but I don't think I quite got how truly beautiful the place is! There's nothing paralllel to Thailand, it's like paradise - from the islands in the south, the jungle in the north and the craziness of Bangkok - the whole place is a mega treasure. Despite the beauty, I was a hot sticky mess most of the time but did manage to get some outfit shots in:
Breathing in....

Greatness and Fakeness

YES. That would be me perching on the Great Wall of China. My first time in Beijing and it is freaking awesome in every way possible.

The first night we sweated down Wangfujing, sliding (it was that sweaty) shoulder to shoulder with hundreds of people. The air was thick with stink and all the street food was served on a stick. Starfish, flying lizards, scorpions, squid, quails, crabs, tripe, snakes and spiders all served on a stick. It was an inward battle for 2 days but I've decided you should see the vid of me eating my first scorpian! I'm dribbling with sweat, no make-up and mega jet lagged, so please no judging....!

You'll know the counterfeiting here is insane and scary cheap so I've taken full advantage. Below my haul so far! A Tory Burch make up bag and some "corss my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye" House of Holland sunglasses (originals here) have been the best bits.

Absent Heart and Fondness

Admittedly it's little bit of a cop-out post but having non-fashion related responsibilities up to my eyeballs this month, this is the best I can do. So here's a round of Instramming activity of my new life up north, a few throwbacks and fashion updates. ahhh I miss London, fashion, my nerdy friends and my bike.
boo. freaking. hoo.

Floral Velvet

It's not so summery but my outfit choices these days are severely confused. I LOVE this dress - its Topshop Boutique from a few seasons ago and its so Gothic-sex it makes me feel really feminine. There's a real luxe feel to the velvet and the flowers are dead pretty. So even though it is a bit of an odd choice this June day, clothes still make me feel good. And that's the most important thing. My boots are new - you can't seem them well in these images but they are ankle boot platforms with toe studding. I'll probably live in them this winter.

Today I'm wearing:
Studded boots - TK Maxx (click here)
dress - Topshop Boutique
Tiara - Primark

Seeking Solace

In my last few days of living in London there is chaos abound and I can only find comfort in leopard print and heels. I'm packing my life today so some charity shop is getting some serious goodies since I just don't have the capacity to drag my stuff 200 miles away. I'm not usually one for coordinating my clothes but it accidentally happened this morning - the original goal was to finally get my legs out this year since my Tunisian tan is fading fast....

Today I'm Wearing:
purple snap back - PrettyLittleThing.com
leopard print skirt - River Island
Top - Primark
Shoes - Next

Sifted and Thrifted

Finally I've had chance to get back to The East End Thrift Store - it is such a trek from my neck of the woods but so worth it. They do a fill-a-bag section and its amaaaaazing. We only filled our bag with three items so it worked out to less than £3.34 per item. I know! It's nuts.... my fave pick was this pair of dungarees. I have to say I never thought I'd succumb to such a trend but my inner fashion slave came screaming out.

 Today I'm Wearing:
Dungarees - East End Thrift Store
Leopard print shoes - Office

Tropical Vintage

I found this dress in a vintage stall at Portobello Market several years ago for my 20th birthday party and every year I still pull it out to wear all Summer. The print it amazing!! And I reckon if soul mates were clothes... I'm also wearing an Adidas pink lumo jacket which I've had since my teens and my very first pair of Irregular choice shoes. I bought them from Faith about 10 years ago! oh today is an aged day.
