Feather Addiction

I picked this leather jacket up in a Charity shop up north a few weeks ago thinking I could sell it on eBay after studding up the collar and shoulders. But whilst rummaging through my crafts drawer, I found this amazing feather trimming and decided to use this instead!! Took ages hand sewing through the tough leather but overall I'm pleased with the look. I'm also wearing the tie-dye tee I made last week - I think I'm going custom crazy...

Today I'm wearing:
Customized Vintage Leather - Charity shop and feather from eBay
DIY tee - Primark
The Congress Shoe - Jeffrey Campbell

DIY Tie-Dye Tee

My creative, considerate, crazy smart sister made me an awesome tee for Christmas this year and I wore it an alarming number of times before I washed it - tragically I managed to wreck it by washing the tee with a pair of new jeans...
In a desperate attempt to gain back my treasured item, we spent an evening trying to repeat the process - I got a ton of compliments about the top and She inspired me to lug my heavy camera across the country to document the whole thing. So here's how to make a tie-dye tee.
The necklaces I'm wearing are from Dorothy Perkins in the sale - they both cost £1-2 each, amazing

Note - if you want the colours to appear more vivid, leave the dye in longer and make up a stronger concentration of dye. I used Dylon Flamingo pinkSunflower Yellow and Intense Violet fabric dye. Each packet could dye several items so its worth dying several things to avoid waste.

Ice Toes

So it was mega stupid to leave the house today in open toe sandals but my outfit was so blahhgh I had to add some shine - and since I literally had to hop across the lawn and into the car, I convinced myself (like everytime) that fashion trumps function... And besides, it's not like I wasn't wearing my glamorous thermal underwear underneath. I should have painted my nails but hey hoo...today I'm wearing.

Today I'm wearing:
Black bobble hat - Doncaster Market
grey open back tee - Urban Outfitters
Tiger print jacket - Vintage Kilo sale in East London
Leatherette Leggings - Topshop
Shiny cork heeled sandals - Dorothy Perkins
Black textured leather bag - DKNY

Glitzzz

Today I felt the shine. The lawn had a frosted glint, icicles poked off the leaves and the garden pond had a thick sheet of smooth ice - this all made me think of shiny day time outfits! I'm wearing my new jacket by Vila from Very.co.uk - it has got rhinestones all over the top half and you can tell it is really well made. The price is also amazing - it's just £60 and there's an identical one in Topshop for double the price...whaaaaaat.
I'm also wearing my vintage gold foil dress and sparkly socks to mish-mash the shine. I think it works :)
Today I'm wearing:
Foil vintage dress - thrifted
sparkly socks - Primark
Wedges - Office

You, me and JC

Today my new Jeffrey Campbell's saw the world. They're called the Congress Shoe - not sure why they aren't so congressy... but they are so wonderful with shiny, textured toes, pony skin leopard print backs and a modern bend on the wooden heel. My dream shoes. If it would be considered acceptable, I'd take the time every night to clean them and sleep in them too. These shoes have literally made my day.

Today I'm wearing:
faux fur hat - A market in Paris
denim shearling vest - thrifted
Skeletal graphic sweat - H&M boys
Leggings - Primark
Boots - Jeffrey Campbell

Blaze Amaze

This Winter has felt pretty grim and the mood and been reflected in my wardrobe with blacks and dark colours. So today despite the frosty sharp temperatures I put on my favourite red shoes to add a bit of energy to my outfit. Today I'm wearing a vintage blazer I picked up at a vintage kilo sale - the big shoulder pads made me feel a bit butch so also a perfect reason to wear some seriously girl ginham shoes. The leggings are a DIY project, I practiced on a cheapy pair of Primark ones for £3 - they worked well so will be doing a post about them soon!
By the way, its not safe to stand with your back to traffic in the road, please do not try this at home :)

Today I'm wearing:
Beanie - Doncaster Market
Blazer - Vintage kilo sale
Tee - Urban Outfitters
Shoes - Irregular Choice
